Upon arrival at Kansai International Airport, we are greeted warmly by our SSTA Representative. Our first stop is the vibrant Kuromon Ichiba Market, fondly known as “Osaka’s Kitchen.” This bustling marketplace is famous for its fresh seafood, sizzling street snacks, and colorful produce. The air is filled with tempting aromas as we stroll past stalls selling everything from grilled scallops to matcha ice cream.
Next, we visit the magnificent Osaka Castle (entrance included), a historical icon surrounded by lush gardens and a moat. This 16th-century fortress, built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, offers panoramic views from its observation deck and insights into Japan’s feudal history through museum exhibits.

We end the day in Shinsaibashi & Dotonbori, Osaka’s liveliest entertainment and shopping district. Neon lights reflect on the canal waters, giant signboards such as the Glico Running Man dazzle the streets, and the atmosphere buzzes with energy – the perfect spot to experience Osaka’s nightlife charm.

Day 03: Ancient Nara & Charming Kobe

Distance: Osaka – Nara – Kobe – Toyohashi (~370 KM) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we head to Nara, Japan’s first permanent capital and home to some of its oldest temples. Our visit to Todaiji Temple is awe-inspiring – this UNESCO World Heritage Site houses one of the world’s largest bronze statues of Buddha, standing over 15 meters tall inside a massive wooden hall. Just outside lies Nara Deer Park, where hundreds of friendly, free-roaming deer – regarded as messengers of the gods – bow politely for treats from visitors.
Our journey continues to Kobe, a cosmopolitan port city famed for its stunning waterfront and culinary delights. We explore Kobe Chinatown (Nankinmachi), filled with red lanterns, Chinese eateries, and vibrant street stalls. A stroll through Kobe Harborland offers beautiful seaside views, chic shopping arcades, and a relaxing maritime ambiance.
We then travel onwards to Toyohashi for our overnight stay.
Overnight: Toyohashi Loisir / Hamamatsu Okura or similar

Day 04: Majestic Mt. Fuji & Shopper’s Paradise

Distance: Toyohashi – Mt. Fuji/Hakone (~300 KM) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, we venture towards Japan’s most iconic landmark – Mount Fuji. If weather permits, we ascend to the 5th Station, where breathtaking views of the snow-capped peak and surrounding landscapes leave us spellbound. This sacred mountain, standing at 3,776 meters, has inspired countless poems, artworks, and pilgrimages.
In the afternoon, we indulge in retail therapy at the Gotemba Premium Outlets, one of Japan’s largest shopping complexes, offering both luxury brands and local finds at attractive prices.
Our accommodation tonight includes the quintessential Japanese experience – an Onsen (hot spring) hotel, where you can unwind in natural mineral baths and immerse yourself in the calming traditions of Japanese wellness.
Overnight: Sun Plaza Hotel or similar (Onsen)

Day 05: Lakeside Serenity & Tokyo Glamour

Distance: Mt. Fuji/Hakone – Tokyo (~150 KM) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We start our day at the picturesque Lake Kawaguchi, one of Fuji’s “Five Lakes,” renowned for its mirror-like reflections of the mountain and seasonal beauty. This is a photographer’s paradise, with cherry blossoms in spring and fiery leaves in autumn.
Next, we explore Oshino Hakkai, a traditional village with eight crystal-clear spring ponds fed by Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt. Wooden bridges, thatched-roof houses, and serene waters make this a postcard-worthy stop.

As we approach Tokyo, we pass by the Imperial Palace for a brief photo stop, capturing the beauty of the iconic Nijubashi Bridge. The day concludes at Ginza, Tokyo’s luxurious shopping district, where flagship designer boutiques stand alongside stylish cafes and traditional tea houses.
Overnight: Keihan Asakusa Hotel or similar

Day 06: Tokyo’s Timeless Traditions & Modern Marvels

Distance: Tokyo City Tour (~50 KM)| Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We begin at Ueno Park, a cultural haven known for its museums, tranquil ponds, and seasonal blooms. The morning ambiance is peaceful, with locals enjoying strolls beneath leafy walkways.
In Asakusa, we embrace Japan’s heritage with a Kimono Experience, dressing in elegant traditional attire before visiting the grand Sensoji Temple – Tokyo’s oldest and most famous Buddhist temple. Strolling down Nakamise Street, we find rows of charming shops selling handmade crafts, snacks, and souvenirs.
Our final stop is Shinjuku, Tokyo’s bustling hub of neon lights, towering skyscrapers, and endless entertainment. From panoramic city views at the Tokyo Metropolitan Building to vibrant nightlife streets, Shinjuku offers an exhilarating close to our Japan exploration.
